sunrider...AGAIN
Well, I went to the dealer this morning for a complimentary first oil and filter change. Earlier in this forum I had mentioned that the (R) next to Sunrider on the window build sheet means the Sunrider option was removed. This was told to me by a Jeep salesman. WRONG!!! While waiting I looked at other new 2008's on the lot. One was IDENTICAL to mine, build date May 2008 as is mine, exactly the same window sticker price and "S" optional items at the exact same price. One thing was very different...it had the Sunrider top. Now at least I know what one looks like and how to tell that I don't have it. Other Jeeps on the lot had the (R) after the word Sunrider. All had "soft top" also further down on the list. Does anyone know what's going on here? BTW the 2009s come with it standard. Now for the big question. For those of you that have it and have used the fold back feature, is it that great. If so I guess I need to fight for it. I took photos of the other window stickers just in case. I'm waiting for an answer from the dealer.
Hi, Mike.
I have only had my JK for 2 weeks today, but I would fight for the Sunrider top if I were you. If it is a sunny day and you are going on a short trip, you can fold the top back in less than a minute (I can't remember if you have a 2 or 4 door, but mine is a 2) and enjoy the open top. You don't have to mess with the plastic windows or worry about getting caught in the rain. When you are done, just fold it back, latch it down, and you are done.

I switched to a Sunrider last summer after having the standard top the first summer. You paid for a Sunrider, demand they put one on. You will like being able to just pop the front of the top open for a quick trip to the store or whatever and not having to fumble around taking out the windows and folding the whole thing down. Hope you are successful getting this straightened out. Good thinking on the photos of the window stickers.
sunrider is great esp on days where you know its likely to rain.. or you are just going to work where you cant see the jeep or hear the weather.. so its a quick real easy way to get some open air..
even on days that are a little chilly for open-top .. flip the sunrider and crank the heater...
if your jeep is supposed to have it I would fight for it.. I thought it was standard on all "S" package 2 doors but not on the "C" package.. and is supposed to be on 'ALL' 4 doors..

Initially I thought the sunrider wasn't that great because you need to take out the back window for higher speeds. Then I realized that you can roll up the back window and ghang it from the straps that button inside the soft top. So, the sunrider is a lot faster to put up and down and you can keep all the windows on the jeep.
Bottom Line is that you should argue for it. Screwed up that you didn't get it and you paid for it.
