When you unclip the plastic clips on the top edge of the door surround, there should be a plastic sleave on the frame of the top. When you slide it forward there is a hinge for the Sunrider. Slide both sleeves forward and lift the top back, folding the top material into a W as you do so. Leave the door surround clips locked in place. Wrap the frame with the supplied velcro straps.

'07 2 doors had the Sunrider as an option. Use this thread and scroll down to post #38 and there are lots of photos I posted of a Sunrider top and surrounds before I installed it on my Jeep. They should help you figure out if you have a Sunrider or a standard top.

No...just above the driver and passenger doors on the soft top frame itself...plastic "sleeves" that allow the frame to fold when they're slid forward past the Sunrider "joint" where it folds back.
I emailed Chrysler for my build sheet...do a search for "build sheet" on this or other forums...someone will have a link to it...

Look at the photos in the link I posted above, there are photos of the sleeve and joint and the surround latches there.

As some folks have said, the Sunrider top was optional in '07. It became standard for Sahara and Rubicon models in '08, and then was made standard across the board in '09. The Unlimited has always had the Sunrider (even in its TJ incarnation).

Plenty of folks have made Sunriders out of their tops with little more than a hack saw and tape.

The dealer told me they dont have to be latched to that, "just have to put the straps around the bows" they said. I believe the correct answer to that question is absolutely! If you don't have the top locked into those holes in the door surround the only thing holding the roof in that position is some velcro and your side window zippers. You are suppose to open/remove your rear window if you are going to go faster than 45 mph (if I remember correctly).

Yeah, I figured the issue out. I also read the manual a few times in the sunrider section and it is advised to take the window out at highway speeds.
