Default surface rust! what to do? PICS

i took off the stocker rear bumper to put on my new Pure Jeep one and found surface rust all over the frame. has anyone else seen this, and what did you do? should i just touch it up with some black rustoleum? or do i need to sand, prime, paint? thanx for any advice...

big spot left of the hole...

rust all around holes and on bracket...

tiny spots, maybe from welding...

THIS is what "rust all over the frame" looks like.

That is such a small amout that I really wouldn't even worry about it. If you want to take care of it I would hit it with a wire brush and some rustoleum.

Very minor rust.....

Wire brush like a few have mentioned.....even a small grinder, spray some rust inhibitor on the spots and then blast with primer and a coat of black paint or bedliner spray.

Default spot it with Rustoleum

Give it another year- it'll look just like redneck jeep's photo from the chemicals on the roads up north.... Seriously, right now while your frame is relatively clean and new give it a good wipedown and shoot the frame with Rustoleum all over the rails and crossmembers, shooting all the suspension assembly bolts real heavy also. These bolts have a silver anticorrosion coating on them that lasts about 10 minutes.Soot 'em heavy with Rustoleum NOW and you will be able to change the shocks, etc LATER..... I did my YJ like this and after 198000 miles I could loosen and remove the original bolts, even after driving thru the spray at Hatteras N.C.
