Default Sway Bar Disconnect ON-road?

With my DIY disconnect mod imminent, I'm pondering now the wisdom, or lack thereof, in driving short distances on-road with the sway bar disconnected.
For instance, for me to get to the Pines, I drive about 20 minutes over paved county roads at 25-50 MPH.
Would I be able to disconnect in my driveway and then link back up when I get home again? Or would this be reckless?

Ive driven form work to home a few times disonnected (26 miles), the ride isnt too bad.. it leans a bit in the turns, but it is a Jeep.

Its a lot nicer when you pull into or out of parking lots disconnected, it doesnt toss you back and forth at all compared to being connected

I removed my swaybar. Kinda like driving a boat just dont go around corners to fast. Drive it like a jeep and not a sports car and you will be just fine..

Yeah I don't know why some people make a big deal out of it. As long as you get used to it and can drive it like a Jeep there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Drove mine for over a week when the electronic disconnect would not re-engage. Dealer thought I was nuts, but it wasn't to bad.

Thanks all, I'm sold. Makes sense to disconnect and reconnect in the comfort of my driveway!

x2. Same thing here. It's not too bad, you just can't be taking corners at high rates of speed!

Sounds good. A reason to let up on my lead foot!

Agree with the rest... if you don't drive it like it's a sports car you can adjust and do fine. However, I drove mine with the sway bar disconnected last Sunday and had my first and only encounter with "Death Wobble"; not sure if related. I drove my YJ with the sway bar removed for a few years and never had a problem.
