Default switches

so, im looking to get my new bumper installed soon, (when my cousin can help me with wiring) and i was thinking about the fog light switch...

first of all, on the rubicon/sahara/24s package, how do you turn on your fogs?

secondly, i wanna make a switch for the fogs. down below where the hazards are and esp. i dont have the disco and the other button, so i was gonna put it on the far left. so it would be button, blank, button, blank, button.

lastly, does anyone know if i can buy the button/switch and misc parts outside of the dealership? eventually i'd hook the button up with more fog lights too. but for now, the fogs and switch will do.

just because they are blank doesnt mean there isnt anything behind it. most (if not all) have indicator lights or some type of electronics behind them.

invest in the daystar lower dash panel.

Good plan. Won't work. Let me explain.

The panel where those switches are is one unit. It's got a PCB circuit board behind it. You can't just pop in a new switch. I'd recommend the DayStar lower dash panel for your application. It replaces the dash panel beneath the area you're talking about with one that has room for 4 switches. the panels $20 and each switch is another $10. Pretty reasonable.

i saw that, and i think it's great, but was that a complete replacement? i dont wanna replace my whole thing on the bottom i just wanted to add like one more switch. i looked at the daystar one, but it was just too big for me. cuz all i need is the one switch. i was hoping to get the mopor one so it looks like i just had it there the whole time. i guess for now i can just make a crappy looking switch, and when i get a winch, i can get the daystar one too. thanks for the help tho.

Where do you plan on putting this switch? If it's in-line with the rest of the factory switches think again. The PCB covers the ENTIRE area. You'd have to cut through it to put in a switch and that would be a very bad idea.

i put 1 switch on the outside of the arm rest. Under the lid for the storage cubby. It was relatively easy to get the wiring in there, and the inside of the storage comes apart so you can finish up your install. I'll post pics here in a minute. Gotta go outside and take a picture.
