A fold down gate would work much better with the rear stinger I want to build. I mentioned that to my boss (formerly a body shop guy before the boat thing). now... .. another thing to add to the list of custom mods.

Thanks for the Link. 384.10 at moparpartsamericadotcom. I tried it as many ways as possible. I might have to go with the fold down verison. That is until the JK wranglers have been out a bit longer . It kind of leaves me all bent up

Quote for the replacement $1400 - $1800 at dealership. I might have to put offother Modifications ,due to dropping my wheeling wit just for a short time.

If not a fold down, then maybe a good time for a custom tube tailgate to match tube doors.

Have you thought about contacting the dreaded insurance company? They might cover it.

If it's not too beat up you could straighten it the best you can and put a WP tailgate cover on it. THey have a smooth one that is black powdercoat (no diamond plate). That's what I did...
