From my understanding if you are using stock rims you can use the stock carrier. I believe you can use it with aftermarket wheels also they just stick way out past the body.

I was told the stock carrier would be fine for AEV Pintler (non-beadlock) and 315/70/17s, but I had to purchase another aftermarket bracket to get the tire out further because it would not install with the stock bumper.
