So I'm driving up Hwy 9 to go camping with my family, and the HOT OIL light comes on and the trans isn't shifting properly.
Had the same thing happen going up Pole line road in Mt. Madonna Park 1 week into ownership. Scared the crap out of me, with the smell and tranny not shifting. Happened again a few weeks later on Bear Creek rd, both times with family on the way to a scout campout. took it into the dealer, who says that the shift points were off, they reset the shifting. I took it on a test run up Hicks to mt umminum rd and couldn't get it to happen again and haven't seen it since. What is really funny is last time I took it to the dealer I asked about getting a aux tranny cooler installed (didn't want to void the warranty doing it myself) they said they don't make one for the wrangler. Pat  |

Well, even the 2010's have a 5 yr. / 100,000 mi. drivetrain warranty. If it ain't broken by the time the warranty is up, it was never a quality issue.

Pat  1 week into ownership, eh? That's just not right. Unless you're like some of these douche bags who'd be happy if the Jeep woke up one night took a crap on their heads. Mine overheated with smoke coming up the floor board within the first few months of ownership. |

how come you didn't report it as a lemon already? you stated that you've had numerous problems with it, continuing after several visits, why not report it and get a new shiny piece of shit?
07 JK and 50K on it, rear seal replaced, and a few small things like a wheel speed censor and gas cap, but no problems.. |
