Default For those trying to get oil changed somewhere besides the dealer

I just went to my local Kwik Kar place. I have always gotten my cars oil changed here.

They told me they didn't have a filter as it was a new engine. I told them it wasn't. They told me it could be a new block. He said its a different type of oil filter and I would need to wait till the after market caught up. I think there wrong.

What has been your experience with filters for 2012's?
