For those who replaced your stock 3.8
Where did you guys get your new ones? I have been looking around for a new engine since i have a feeling mine will be going shortly. Thanks for your help.

I found mine as a 7K mile takeout, complete engine & tranny, on Craigslist. They are pretty cheap to find & source out here, since so many people go to V8's due to our altitude.

I've swapped a couple 3.8 engines in jks at this point. Get a reman engine. I wouldn't trust a 3.8 that already has 70k miles that I'm sure started using oil so previous owner wanted it swapped. Just my opinion though.
but the 3.8 in the jk is one of the easiest engines I've replaced so far. Its all straight forward and can't really mix anything up. Its like a puzzle really. I can start on a jk Friday nite after work and have it running and driving out of my shop Sunday before lunch. And that's by myself taking my time.
I recommend having a friend when you do tc bolts. Annoying holding the crank in place and trying to brake the tc bolts loose by yourself. Can confirm its doable though.
