Default Tires cupping at 8K. Rotation or ?

I'd been planning to get my tires balanced and rotated sooner, but I kept putting it off. Then seemingly overnight the tires started to drone and get really loud. Turns out both front tires were badly cupped. I was at 8K miles, so it's probably just lack of rotation, but just wondering if its worth it to have the dealer check the ball joints, shocks, etc.

I went ahead and did a 5-tire rotation so one cupped tire is on the spare and one is on the back left. My plan is to replace the cupped one on the ground to match the new spare that went to the ground, giving me two new rears.

Also, kudos to Discount Tire for transferring my lifetime balance and rotate from my last JK (also a 2011 and traded it with low miles) to the new one for free.

Discount Tire is awesome. Definitely keep up on the rotation schedule, especially if you go with larger tires. Also, do a chalk test to check your psi if you haven't already done so.

Rotate tires, get it aligned, do chalk test for tire pressure

Thanks for the replies. Been using 37psi in the stock tires so might be too high.

ya.. rotation must be maintained with larger tires. i usually rotate every 4k miles at Discount tire. 5 tire rotation. one of the most important maintenance items for your jeep.
