Default Transfer Case Shifting

Any body have issues with shifting transfer case into neutral. Tried to tow my 2012 Wrangler Sport. While hitching on a slight decline, had difficulty getting transfer case into neutral. Lever went into correct position, but case did not disengage. Anybody have this experience?

If you tried to force it, you could have a broken the plastic clip at the transfer case that connects to the shift cable. Can you cycle between 2h and 4h?

It is typically easier to shift the transfer case if your Jeep is rolling slightly.

Like LKred said don't force it.
