If the warrenty is a non-starter and you are facing replacing the transmission anyway what would be the harm in trying the additive? I had never heard of TransX until yesterday. Guy at work mentioned he had "fixed" the automatic transmission in his Ford truck by adding some TransX. He had bought the truck at 90,000 and added 40,000 more when the trannie started slipping "a little". Fluid level was fine. Dealer service manager and tech said it did not look like the transmission had ever been serviced and it was to late to start. The tech suggested TransX. I was told no more slippage so it seems to be working for him for now.

Start here

First check your OBDII , see if there are any codes set

42RLE Code (DTC) P0740 Torque Converter Clutch, No RPM Drop @ Lockup

42RLE Code (DTC) P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid/Trans Relay Circuits

Well I went ahead and ordered a used transmission from an 08 that was rolled. I plan on swapping it out this weekend.
Can anyone tell me what all I will need to do to remove/install?

Disconnect electrical-
disconnect cooler lines-
unbolt bottom bell housing-
unbolt torque converter-
unbolt top bell housing-
disconnect shift cable-

What about the transfer case side?
Why do shops charge 200 to swap a 2wd and 350 for a 4wd?
