Yeah, clay bars will pull all the bonded contaminants off and make your paint feel very smooth. I park outside 100% of the time in the NYC area and I clay my car every 3 weeks or so, and my paint is in pristine condition because of my detailing.

Some people use soapy water for claying, but the meguiar's stuff really is the best. Check it out.
