Trouble Closing Doors
I hear you, but my old TJ doors did not have the same problem. That's why it was so noticable to me. To be fair I did not have full doors on the TJ, and that may be the difference.
I have to tell people not to slam the door. I always shut mine last also. I think it is like that because of being new. AIR TIGHT!!! I am sure sooner or later it wont be like that. I had a colorado that was like that untill it got a couple years old. But yes be careful about the pass slamming the door.
I've noticed the same thing. I have to close the door harder if all other doors and windows are shut. With the hard top, everything is air tight. I too have adopted the "hang on to the door handle while shutting" method. I'm still trying to teach my wife not to close the door so hard when another door or window is open.

Then, that will lead to the dreaded "does my butt look okay in these jeans" conversation.
Best bet is to open and close her door the gentleman way!!
Mine has the hard to fully latch problem too. So what is the point of the huge one way vent in the rear swing door if the darn doors are so hard to shut?
If the behaviour that fireresqjeep described is repeatable in all JKs, it is a NTSB recall waiting to happen.

Yes the doors are hard to shut, that being said, I want to point out a few things.
1. I was in standing, muddy water that was 6 inches from going over my rear tub and the top was down. Not a drop of water through the door seals.
2. these doors have a flat 'gate style hinge' and not an eccentric hinge with a 'helper' spring to hold it open and close like most modern vehicles.
3. My brother (who also has a 4 door JK) and three teenage boys, are used to slamming doors, but have been trained to shut them with the handle and not with the paint. Well, he now had 'low spots' 'dents' 'depressions' on the door around where the door handles are.
So, be happy you have great, tight doors, but be cautios on how you close them.
I use the 'swing and release method' it works for us.
