Subscribed... i have been wanting this too. I read on one thread though that they didnt have the setup right on the 07 so they didnt put anything in the jeep for the u connect at all. From what i understand you have to get the module and everthing and then have the dealershit to unlock the head unit program. Damn them. But if i am wrong, which i hope i am, someone else will chime in and correct me.

Do you have MyGig headunit?

If not, honestly by the time you buy the kit and have it programmed by the dealer you would be better off spending the money on a modern aftermarket headunit.

On my old 2008 it came with the factory touch screen radio/nav. They told me when I bought it U connect module was not available, but my radio was unconnect ready. I had to wait around three months till it was. I went back and they installed it for approx 150.00.

07 requires a module from Jeep installed, mine cost $350 took about 30 min to install. Mike is part of the package.

If you have a touchscreen MyGig that says RER in the bottom right corner than you just need a mic. The Uconect module is built in to the RER units. If you don't have a MYGig and it says RES in the bottom corner you need to buy the Uconnect module.

If it's a 2007 with a 2007 RES radio, I would honestly suggest going further. The reason being that the HW in the radio for Uconnect support is limited. You won't have streaming audio capabilities, also another thing is that if you're playing a CD and go to "AUX or iPod" mode the only way to get back to the cd is to use VR commands. Pressing the button won't work. Just passing on some thoughts. Not to mention that in order to get Uconnect to work you will need the Uconnect kit PN 82212159 & iPod / USB cable PN 82212160 (about $300 on line) then pay the dealer to flash the vehicle to code "RSP" (about 50 - $100)
