U-Connect Opinions
All good information... Thanks guys.
One thing I find interesting is the range (I didn't mention this before). My phone is a priority 2. My wife's is priority 1. We both leave our Bluetooth on all the Time. A few weeks ago I called on my way home to have her meet me in the shop. When she picked up I was about a half mile out... When I got somewhere between a 1/4 and a 1/8 mile from home. The Bluetooth went nuts... Disconnected me and connected to her phone! I thought Bluetooth was limited to about 30 feet. One would think if it could connect over this distance it would be a good connection.
The sound in the Jeep good and clear... Although a little quiet. Its the other end that sucks. I think the mic is jacked-up. I'll test much more before I turn it over to the goons at the dealer. I just downloaded a phone recording app. I am going to have my wife call me tomorrow when she is in the jeep and record the conversation on my end.

Which radio do you have? I have the RHB and have used several different phones with no issues. Does Uconnect hear your commands ok? (meaning you don't have to yell at it)
The Uconnect BT is a class 2 which has a range of around 30 -34 ft. So with you being 1/4 mile away, her phone wouldn't be within range. Also Uconnect doesn't do an automatic switch from 1 phone to the other. If you have a phone that is paired to Uconnect, the only 2 ways to get it to switch to the other phone is:
1) press the Uconnect button and say "set up, select phone", then you'll be asked for the phone that you want to select. (now when you do this you're not also switching the streaming audio source. This because you are only switching the hands free profile).
2) turn BT off on the 1st phone. Then Uconnect will search for the 2nd phone and pair up to it when it's found.

I agree with everything you are saying.... But I can tell you that is not how ours works! (At least not in the Jeep) It is about 300' to the end of our driveway, and another 400' to the end of our road. I was not on our road and the Jeep connected to my wife's phone. She was talking to her sister once (at home) and I was interjected into the conversation as I turned onto our road. There have also been several instances where both of us have taken BT calls when we are together on the same trip. I though it was kind-of a cool feature until It bumped me off the phone and connected to her's once in range.
To answer other questions... Other BT commands are so..so. sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. We haven't take the time to do the teach thing so I don't know if this is an issue with our speech or the mic. I can tell you that music plays great... so I am leaning towards the mic being the issue. (Although it sounds like our BT has some "different" features than most so maybe there is more to it
)
well, there is certainly something odd here.
Let me mess with this a little and get back with you, ok. Does this happen consistently? Do you have Wi-Fi turned on the phones?
1) How did you determine that her phone got connected thru BT?
2) Where was your wife when she was talking to her sister? It sounds like she was at home, (correct) and did her call start coming thru the stereo?
3) Were you on a call thru Uconnect at that time?
4) If you were not on a call at that time, are you sure that your phone was connected to the system? (could your phone had been turned off or was it possible that BT was turned off on the phone)?
5) If you are on an active call (other than to your wife) before you got to your street, your wife is at home on a call to someone else, what happens as you come up the street?

We ordered ours with the Uconnect 130. Neither my wife or I like the look of the Nav monitor in a Jeep.

I will say that I was driving down the highway a few weeks ago with the wife following about 150' behind me. I called her and the BT picked up her iphone and I got to here our conversation in stereo.
Please explain this a bit more, ok.
1) you were in 2 separate vehicles and called your wife.
2) Was your call thru Uconnect or thru the phone handset? If thru the handset, was your phone connected to Uconnect at that time?
3) Explain "I got to here our conversation in stereo".

Sorry for the auto correct there or whatever happened. My bluetooth was off on my phone. I called her from my jeep and the uconnect picked up her iPhone which was about 150' behind me and as I was driving down the road I was hearing her though my phone and though the uconnect which was picking up her phone. I was surprised that the range was that good.
