Default Unable to get driver's side mirror off

I purchased the mopar mirror relocation bracket and want to move my mirrors off my doors. The problem is that I cannot remove the mirror from the factory mount. The instructions state to remove the t40 hex bolt that attaches the mirror to the mount, and use "slight force" to pull the mirror assembly out while the whole thing is still attached to the jeep. I've tried everything I can think of to get it out (pushed as hard as i can, spray anti-seeze spray), but the darn thing will not budge. Any suggestions??

Hit it with your purse.

Seriously though, they will come out. After you remove the bolt thread it back in 2-3 turns and give it a tap, should pop out.

I tried that...I backed the screw all the way out, and then put it back in a few turns and then pounded the hell out of it. It didn't budge... I've also gotten underneath it in a squatting position, and pratically lifted the jeep off the ground while having someone pound on the bolt, and twist the damn thing at the same time. I'm telling you this think is stuck...

Put a flat head underneath where you remove the bolt, and give it a swift knock from the bottom with a rubber mallet. Works like a charm. Just need to have fast reflexes to catch the mirror in the air

Take out one of the bolts that is holding the passenger side mirror to the door. It's the same thread as the one you removed from the bottom of the mirror, except it's longer. Thread that all the way in and then give it a few sharp smacks from a hammer. It will pop the mirror up. I just did this on Saturday with both of mine.

I'll give this a shot tonight. It's been raining here today, so hopefully the moisture might have loosened it up a bit as well.

If any of your neighbors are around, it will entertain them immensely to watch you bang the bottom of your mirror with a hammer. At least mine seemed to be enjoying it.

Mine did, too.

However, my driver's side mirror is still in the mount. I smash that slightly unthreaded/unscrewed bolt everyday with a rubber mallet. When I said "smash" I meant I "beat the piss out of that F'in bolt". Sometimes I can see the sheet metal of the door flex (the mirror and mount are still attached to the door). This weekend I'm going try to take the assembly off the door and put it in a vice. The mirror will come off. I just hope nothing breaks, cracks, or bends. Wish me luck
The weird thing about this whole thing is that the passenger side lifted right out with no "pulling" effort at all. Did they glue the driver's side
