Default Unique TPMS Question

Does the tpms sense the spare? My spare tire valve stem got messed up on the trail. All the tires except the spare have 35lbs and the system still kicking off a low pressure warning.

Yes, it senses all 5.

Fairly easy and common to break those things. My ProCal was well worth the price just to be able to turn that light off.

As stated above, it senses the spare. But not as often, as the system knows it is not rotating. (I'll double check that in the FSM if requested.)

The spare is sensed, but it isn't as quick to turn on or shut off. The sensors have accelerometers in them that sense motion - doesn't need to be rotational motion.

TPMS stems are expensive and generally cannot be repaired, only replaced. I had mine banded inside the wheel to solve the problem for good. Here's the tale of my journey to banding the sensors:

xwhaever on the sensor in the spare... I used the Superchips flashpaq to lower it... I think that in the new version of the software you can disable it...

Thanks for the answer. After the trail where I broke the stem it didnt come on then 3 days later it kicked on, so I wasnt sure what was happening. I just got new rims and the tire shop said they can band the sensor in the rim so I can go with a rubber stem.

My tire going flat triggered the sensor, I installed the spare. Once I cycled the ignition key the next morning the system lite went OUT....Go figure
