Default UV protectant for canopy material

My canopy is rotting in about 2 seasons due to the sun. Will 303 Aerospace Protectant work on this material? The 303 Fabric Guard does not mention that it protects from UV rays.

Aerospace 303 is all about the sun and UV. Obviously, your top is junk at this point, but when you replace it you can make sure to use the A303 on the new one to significantly reduce it's UV degradation.

A premium top works better in the sun, it doesn't dry up quite like the old sailcloth or standard vinyl tops. It isn't a solution for your current top but rather a solution for your next move.

I only have a POS soft top I use as a trail top on long trips. I don't value soft tops much in my neck of the woods, BUT, if I ever did replace the material on that thing.....that is the product you guys are using to protect it? Just spray it on and it soaks in type thing? Repeat annually or on a schedule to keep it well coated?

It probably depends on how much you go through the car wash. My experience with 303 is that I use it on my neoprene winch cover since the black will fade out of it in less that 2 months during the summer if I don't. Beginning of last summer I got a new winch cover, sprayed it with 303. I reapplied 4 months later (October) in preparation for the winter, cover still looked great. June rolled around this year and suddenly I noticed my cover rapidly starting to fade. I also put my JK through the car wash 3-4 times per week during the winter to wash the slush and salt off of it. I have a $20/month unlimited wash subscription and try to get my money's worth during that time. So based on my experience and my frequent use of car washes, every 3-4 months is likely a good cycle.
