Default U joint/ Boot?

So I have the popping sound coming from my front end and did research and found that it is most likely the cv boot that could be the problem. I've read that if it gets really bad and the grease leaks out that parts will start to dry and crack.

The only problem I have is that I have no idea where the cv boot is. Or how to get to it. I've looked up some pics on the web and it kinda shows that it should be near the side of the wheel.

I just need to know how to find it and/or get to it. I've already saved the forums that talk about how to grease it.

I think if you go into advance edit you can fix the title
I think. And do you have stock axles? If so, you have u-joints, not CV joints. Unless your source is discussing the driveshaft, which uses Rzeppa joints. They have a boot which has been known to tear and spatter grease.

I can't find any way to edit it on my phone. And now I really wish I could. Because my jeep is stock and that means it is a u joint.

Does it still have a boot of some kind that can be greased to stop the popping sound?

Dude, you need to google "independent front suspension vs solid front axle" and do some reading to learn about the Jeep you bought and how it differs from many other vehicles.

You have no boots in the front drivetrain besides the boot on your front driveshaft. It could rip and cause a clicking noise. If you have a popping noise, your u-joints could be gone. What year/how many miles on your Jeep?

Hey I know I lack a lot of knowledge when it comes to any vehicle. I'm trying though and there is a lot of information out there and its not easy.

Anyway it is 2009 JKU with 37k miles. Last Nov. There was a harder popping/ knocking that could be felt through the wheel and heard if you had your head out the window. The dealer replaced the drive shaft and the steering was tighter and the noise was gone.
Now there is a popping sound again. All I have to do is simply shake the wheel a bit while driving and you can easily hear the popping sound. I cant say I feel it through the wheel yet though.
Should the drive shaft and the boot on that be checked first? Then if that is alright, move to the u joint near the wheel?

It has to be the u joints then. Th drive shaft is still brand new looking and the boot on it is still looks and feels fine.

Guess its time to figure out if it is the u joints that are bad. Which if they are... I will have to have a mechanic replace them. I wouldnt know where to even start.

Did they replace your front driveshaft or your steering shaft? Front driveshaft replacement would not affect the steering of your jeep in any way.
