Default Warranty question.

Hey guys I've got 55k on my 2012 lifted jk with 35's. tonight starter decided to crap out. I hit it whit a hammer while my buddy cranked it and it turned over, but my question for you guys is has anyone had any problems with getting something warranties like a starter at 55 thousand. I just want to know what to expect when I call them tomorrow to ask lol.

Until someone responds who has actually tried, I can tell you the word starter shows up only once in the 2012 warranty booklet's list of items covered beyond the basic 3 year/36,000 miles:

"flywheel with starter ring gear;"

Warranty is to 100K

I had the dealer completely rebuild my rear 44 because the spider gears were chipped at 49K miles. New R &P, bearings, carrier and outer seals

35's 3" lift anti-rock didn't say a word. But of course its a jeep friendly dealer BTW.

If the first dealer refuses try another. My friend has a 2012 jkur. Since new he gets horrible gas mileage compared to my 2012 JKU. I get 17.5. He is getting below 15. He just took his to the dealer for that mpg problem. He has the leveling pucks installed. The dealer refused to even investigate the low MPG and noted in the invoice that it was because of the user installed lift kit. That's all he had were the leveling pucks. Other than that 100% stock.

Unless you have an extended warranty, it will not be covered.

Thanks for the input guys! I know the lift has nothing to do with the starter problem lol. But I do have a 100,000 mile warranty but I figured power train or mechanical parts warranty stops at 36,000. Ill give it a shot and let you guys know what happens!

Your 100,000 mile warranty is for the powertrain.
