Exclamation Weird Problem

I was drivin down the highway on my way into the city in traffic goin about 20 mph and then as i looked at the dash and gauge cluster everything went off and then came back on. my radio turned off and everything seemingly resetted. i tried to keep driving but my throttle was not working and the power steering was also out, so luckily i managed to get over to the side of the road. i turned the key all the way off and turned the car back on again. when it turned on, the OBD II light (the one that looks like an engine) turned on and a light which im not sure of it looked like a lightning bolt with parentheses around it like this )5( or something like that. ummm it worked after that and i drove to town and back and hasnt happened again.

any ideas? am i risking my life whenever I take the road?

I had sort the same thing happen to me actually. After about 3000 miles I was driving around 40mph in 5th gear just cruising down the road when all the suddon everything went off (including the engine) then fired right back and then went off and fired back again. The car kinda jumped too kinda like when somebody is trying to start out and they dont know how to drive a stick. But i was in mid range rpm's just cruising. Ive since put another few thousand miles on it and it hasnt happened again. I never got any engine lights though. Just a one time thing, but it was very strange. Ive never had that happen before.

Check all of your fuses including the ones under the hood. A guy on another board had kinda the same problem and it turned out to be a loose fuse.

I think there is a TSB dated 11/18 to correct this issue. Check with your dealer.

Add another one to the list... I was driving Saturday AM doing 120 kph down the highway when the exact same thing happened (body shake, shut down, restart, etc.) but luckily everything restarted properly and I kept moving down the road.

Thanks for the tips above, I will call my dealer ASAP. Does anyone know the exact number of the TSB for this problem?
