Weird Stalling type problem
Every once in a while my jeep If I don't add enough gas it starts to stall right? so I put push the clutch all the way in so I don't stall. But I've been doing that to prevent stalling but lately it seems that its stays in that i'm about to shut off stage (when the engine revs at 200 or so) even when I depress the clutch to prevent stalling. So I'm left with my engine running and I can't move and it stays reving at 200 it just keeps going until I shut off the engine by turning the key. What I have done everytime it has happened is just shut off the engine. What is causing it to lock up like that is it normal? I even put it in neutral to help it not stall.
Thanks
Thanks

Mine has done the same thing..More so in R than when I am in fwd motion. I will reve it a few times and its like everything goes back to normal. i had it do this once time and it threw a coad that I had a missfire in cyl 6 i think. but cleared it and never had it again...IDK....Its a Jeep thing.
When its all good and running right, do you have a rough idle? Mine was doing the same, then it got worse because I could get it to back fire and then the idle was 2000 rpm. What it was for me was 2 bad spark plugs. It as well did not throw any codes. Had them fixed at the dealer no more problems. Jeep has had a run of bad/ needing adjustment spark plugs.

Is it like a first timer learning how to drive stick. where you don't have enough gas into it and to much clutch and it just stalls, then you restart and try again, only instaed of stalling it goes into that 200 rpm stumble.
If so mine did this as well when new. I knew the staling was just me getting used to the new jeep but the stumble was a mistery because like you said with any other stick shift you can normally save the stall by pushing in the clutch but in our case not so much.
anyway mine doesn't do that anymore but its been 3 years and maybe I'm just better at driving it.
how long have you had it??

I've had it happen a few times also.
I think it's just like a normal stall, but sometimes it doesn't recover as quickly due to the electronic throttle. Mine usually either fully stalls or recovers after about 5 seconds.

I too have had the "stall", including going over speed bumps with the clutch in. Of course dealer cannot duplicate. I also am not able to pop clutch & restart either.
