Default Well, I blew another seal.....

Get your mind out of the gutter. The dang right side front axle seal on my 2010 JKU was just replaced about 4 months ago. Got under the JK to do some maintenance and noticed a nice swirly-art pattern of gear oil all over my tire....again! I called my service guy at the only Jeep Dealer in Omaha city limits, awesome guy (jack) and he is gonna get me taken care of again. What the heck did Jeep do wrong on these D30s that the seals are getting shredded so often????????

Another thing to check is the vent and make sure it's not plugged.

I have no idea if this makes sense or not, but here goes. I had my Jeep in a few weeks ago for the same leaking seal. They replaced the seal AND the bearing. Advisor stated that bad bearings are what is causing the seals to fail. I have no idea if this is technically correct or not, but wanted to chime in just in case it helps you diagnose the problem.

I am running the TF leveling kit, but my svc advisor assured me that this will not be an issue. If it comes up, they will have to find some BS justification as to why the one before this one failed at pure stock set-up.

Thanks for the info on the bearing. Last time they checked the shaft for spurs and said it was clean. Ill have to have them check the bearing this time.

And yes, I set this thread up for the funny seal BJ joke because its funny and fit the topic.
