My 2 dr X was built 6/8/07, it has Dana 30 upfront and Dana 44 outback.

A ford 9 inch doesnt have a diff cover, has a center section that unbolts out of the housing. No its not the same as an 8.8"

Ford 9" doesn't have a gasket. The entire 3rd member (differential carrier housing) is removable and is sealed back with silicone.

Spline count on standard 44 rear is 30, with a revised pinion bearing and shaft. Rubicon 44 rear is 32 spline with the 4 pinion electric locker and revised pinion bearing. Both rear housings are the same.

hmmm thinking mine might come with hi pinion d44 front with d60 w/ tracloc for the rear atleast they are sitting in the garage

Because you didn't get the tow package. X and Sahara only get the 44 in the rear if you get the tow package or manual trans.

Not true on the "tow package or manual" only

I have a 07 Sahara with AUTO, NO tow package and the 44 rear end. It was ordered that way by the dealership. It is also listed on the window sticker as an upgrade. For those of you not sure if you have the 44 or the 35, I would check on the sticker first.
