Default What can I use to clean my engine ?

I recently went on a run and my engine is a bit dirty (mud) and I'm wondering what others use to clean their engines when this happens. I know their are a ton of aftermarket products that I can spray on and hose off, but i'm trying to get some feedback on what others recommend or have used in the past. Thank you in advance....

Simple green or Purple power diluted with water for lite applications or for heavy mud and grease just spray directly on a warm engine then pressure wash off.

Do not spray a hard stream of water directly at fuse box, alternator, ECU or airbox.

Definitely, simple green works great... Mix it with water, let it soak for a little and than wash off

Or you can try the engine cleaner option at your local carwash not sure how well it works though

Default simple green

spray on the simple green and let it dry, repeat. Then hose it all down. Make sure you cover your air intake and battery/fuses with some plastic. Do it in the sun so it dries quick.

I use a pressure washer to get off the majority of the mud. Then I spray it down with Simple Green, let it sit a while, and then hit it with the power washer again. If you're anal you can get one of those wheel brushes from the auto part store to get to all the nooks and crannies...
