i thought so...I was doing a stereo install last week and was trying to get the shifter out of the way. Took the cover of and put the key in and pushed and it felt like whatever was in there snapped off...is that bad? LOL!!!

It allows the shifter to be put into neutral without a key. Pop the panel, slide a screwdriver in and depress the lever or whatever and it will allow you to put the shifter into neutral.
