Whats the deal with my squeak???
I have a 2007 6-speed . When I shift and let off the clutch there is a squeak ( sometimes ). Now I know there is a recall for this problem , but here's the deal. When I am in gear , 1rst, 2nd 3rd ect , I can tap the gas quick and hear a squeak sound. This leads me to think it may not be the clutch . What do you think?????

Check out the TSBs section down at the bottom of the home page of this forum. There are two different TSBs for the squeal, throw out bearings and clutch disc plate. Just had mine disc plate, pressure plate replaced. Get it in before 12,000 or they could say it's past warrranty, and most dealerships would love to deny your work.

I took mine in last week at 11,989 miles! They are replacing the clutch--my guess is that they are doing both the disc and the bearing. I'd like to have seen them try to deny the warranty. I'd take the service manager to small claims court and simply show the TSB documents. It would be an easy win. There's no way they could deny the warranty with two separate TSBs and so many people having to get it done.
Small tip--if you ever use small claims court against a business, name an individual as the defendant, such as the service manager. It settles things very quickly. The first thing they do is call and whine that you should not hold them personally liable. The next phase of the conversation is then usually an offer to take care of the issue. A friend who is an attorney helped another friend by giving this advice over an issue with a plumbing company. It was amazing how it worked exactly as it should have. Of course, if you are in the wrong, it probably won't work.

Thanks for the inpuy and advice when I face the Dealer. Just noticed the TSB for the Throw Out Bearing (TOB) only applies to the 2007 JK and 2006 TJ. Anyhow my TOB isn't the culprit at this time, but the disk is...
