Personally I preferred the black plastic fenders over the painted fenders on the Sahara. That's just my personal taste, but enough of one that it was a big reason why I opted for the X over the Sahara. It just looks more rugged and "Jeepy" to me you know?

I like the clean look of the sahara flares. also you can max them and tar does not stick to them and stain them. I hate haveing to clean them.

but do you know any diffrences in the electronics on the X and Sahara.

Probably nothing. The Sahara is just a nicer X really. In fact a Rubicon is just a nicer X with some hardcore off road options installed. The only thing I can think might be the sway bar disconnect stuff, but I would bet you could add that system to an X if you wanted to.

the things I know.
Seat fabric
painted flares
all have infinty sound system
Diffrent wheels

Is this it or is there more? On older Sahara's the package ment some extra goodies like upgraded electronics, better diffrentail gearing, and along with the color scheme. I know you could get close to it with the highest sport but there was just some tings that came on a Sahara that you could not get in the sport.

I was going to build an X but got to within 600 bucks the way I wanted, so I got sahara instead as I like the smooth painted fenders.

What you need.

Fog lamps
power convience group
infinity sound system
yr of sirris radio
Yes Seats (more to it than just the covers)
18 inch alloys w 255 wide tires
hd gas shocks
digital compass and temp
Decal on the side

Good luck.

actually, the new 08s do.

I didn't want the power group in the first place and that is why I was building up an X.
The dealer said "you really do want them, as these new Wranglers are way too wide to lean over and crank them down" At that point, I said:
Self, we are now only $600 away from a sahara and you get the 18" rims and painted fenders which the wife will like better (the Jeep is for her). So I ponied up the money figuring we are talking $5 a month the way we drive Jeeps.

Early Sahara's maybe.

Ours was built in Feb 07 and is missing the hoodlight and foot lights.

I don't think there is really anything other then the painted flairs that you couldn't get on an X. It's all just options.

Personally I've never understood why people try to make their vehicle look like something else. I guess if the color wasn't availible you don't have much choice though.

I'm glad we got the 07 cause you couldn't pay me to keep the silver bumper trim on there.
