I personally live the 3.8L now. Especially since I know when it's floored to the metal, it isn't that exciting. Therefore, it's saving me gas because I don't romp it. I drive normal and do just fine on fuel economy (about 19.5 in the city).

The diesel would be nice. Even better if they price of Diesel fuel would come down.

the 3.8 was fine for me when i was running 4.10's with my stuck rubi, but its lagging with my 35's right now, but im blaming that on the gearing. once i get my gearing back the 3.8 will be great again. No complains so far.

but a little more torque cant hurt......never does

I have a 4 door manual Rubicon and think the 3.8 does well.

what he said, wouldn't waste my time with a hemi regardless ...unless it was all free ....an LSxx would be a much better choice

but for now the 3.8 with a lifetime warranty suits me just fine in my 2-dr Rubi

it's pretty simple - nobody likes to be stock.

4dr 6-spd Rubi here.

This little engine actually has a lot going for it. I even like the electronic throttle. Once you get used to it, it's the smoothest driving manual I've ever driven. (Not the shifter. The shifter is pretty notchy. What I mean is the ride I can give my passengers. Very smooth. No abrupt jerks during shifting and power application.)

Also, past a certain necessary minimum, low-end torque is just a good way to do something stupid quickly. It's called rock-CRAWLING for a reason.

There has never yet been an obstacle I couldn't get over, where the reason was lack of power.
