Default Wheel order screw up!

I ordered 18x9 wheels with 5" of BS. They stick out way to far for my liking. I test fit the rim with no tire and they stick out 2". No bueno!

They sell the same wheel with 30mm offset or 6.12" of BS. I really like the style of wheels so I don't want to change. I am putting narrow 275/70r18 Duratrac on them. My only worry is the additional 1.12" of BS will cause rubbing.

What do you all think? Order the same wheel with more BS or search for 8" wheels?

Don't know what year your Jeep is, but normal backspacing for 1987-2009 was 4.5" and after that is 5".

I believe your referring to bolt spacing not back spacing

That is lug pattern. I don't think wrangler has ever has stock 4.5" backspace.

I think you're right. I need advice. What do you all think? 6"+ BS is safe or not?

The backspacing on stock JK wheels is 6.25". That means that the mounting surface of the wheel is 6.25” from the rear lip of the wheel.

I guess it is just like running a stock wheel on the inside of the wheel as far as how close it will come to the sway bar, air dam and track bar.

The only thing changing is how far it will stick out. What is the exact stock wheel width?

My only hold back is that some people say you need wheel spacers to run 275/70r18 on stock wheels, but they mostly say that for looks. That way they sit out a bit more. If that's true and not for rubbing reasons, then I am good. If its more for rubbing reasons I may regret it.

I find it hard to believe your tires actually stick out 2" with that setup. I have cut fenders, 12.5" wide tires and 3.75" BS
