I had a 80 mile commute in the 3rd most terrible stateside commutes, SF Bay Area. Look into AT tires, but the pricing still holds true, just not as drastic.

I have a long commute highway as well, and went to Duratrac on stock. 275/70 18. No added noise/him ( may be quieter than stock) and excellent on beach and snow.
