Default Wheel and Tire widths

Hi all,

the AEV 16" wheel is 8" wide. I know they should fit a 285/75R16 tire. Would they be a good fit for a 305/70R16 tire, or would that be pushing it? Those tires would be used as a daily driver and pressured down during the weekends for sand wheeling. I feel I'm not getting enough flotation with the stock 255/75R17 BFG MT's that came with my 4door rubi, and I'm thinking about switching to desert tires like the nitto desert grapplers or some desert duelers. For those who have lots of experience with duning, will I feel a lot of difference in the sand between 255 and 285 tires? How about with 305 tires? Thanks!

They should fit. I am running 315/75R17 on the stock 7.5" wheels.

Do you have any clearance problems with your 315'. I assume they are on the stock 17" wheels?

Not after put on the 3" lift and 1.5" wheel spacers.

To fit 35s or 315s, you will need at least a 2.5" lift and wheel spacers.
