I bought a Klima Cleaner which has worked great on my past cars. It's one of those fresheners that you spray into the evaporator via a long tube and I need to know where to apply it. I also need to make sure I spray it into the side where the air enters the evaporator so the chemical goes through it. Any feedback appreicated.

Thanks!

It's behind the dash, in order to get to it the dash needs to be pulled.

The Klima Cleaner has a tube that's about 2 feet long. Is there a place I can stick the tubing into that's near the evaporator? ...where the product will get sucked into the evaporator?

Default Spraying air conditioner evaporator

I am not familiar with the product you are wishing to use. The air intake for the air conditioner / heater is the cowl between the hood and windshield. You should be able to turn the defroster on, air conditioner on, fan on high and spray into the cowl. The blower should pull the spray from the cowl and force it through the evaporator core. If your Jeep has a cabin air filter (check your owner manual) you could remove the filter and spray in the duct there.

Good luck.

Is this a product used by AC professionals to clean the evaporator coils? Chad probably has the best idea although I would be cautious, some of that stuff is pretty harsh and can eat gaskets and seals.

You are correct, sir. And I only used about 1/4 of the can because the stuff smells pretty strong. I've used it in the past on other cars and it completely eliminated any stale/mildew odor coming from the vents. You bring up a great point so I only used about 1/4 of that can and that seemes to have done the trick. Thanks!

Great idea Chad. I sprayed a litle bit into the cowl area and a little bit more behind the glove box where the flap opens up when you turn the recirculation button on. I don't have cabin filters since my Jeep is an '08 (read it was available on 2011+).

No more stale odor from my vents

Thanks guys!
