Who Still has the Lifetime Warranty
Is this a common issue? On My wife's 2013 Sahara, I keep getting faint coolant smells but I cannot find any indication of where they are coming from. My mother in laws 2015 Rubicon has been the same, we were visiting with her and she ran to the store and came back and I noticed the fan was screaming (it was a cooler day) so I looked over everything for her and she was extremely low on coolant, but I could not find any signs of where it had leaked out. I told my mother in law to take it in for diagnostic, but I'm not sure if she has yet or not. I'm scared to take my wife's jeep in, we have an extended power train warranty, but I'm not sure to what extent that covers as far as the coolant system.
The manifold gasket leaking coolant seems common from reading the forum. But, I don't have any stastics. I noticed coolant on a truck bed mat in the garage that I park the Jeep on. I looked at the coolant bootle and the coolant level was low. I looked around with a flash light and could see some coolant puddled on the front/top of the engine. Dealer only had the Jeep for one day. Service Manage laughed and said I must love that warranty when I picked it up. No charge.
it seems that the dealer is keeping the jeep longer than necessary for warranty repairs. I also have to show them my license and registration every time i have warranty work. Anyone else notice this?
FYI, apparently Jeep can cancel the warranty if they feel you have abused your jeep. My next door neighbor had the lifetime warranty on his 08 Rubicon and used it to fix many things. However, he took it to jeep for warranty service one time recently and the service tech wrote up many more "problems" he saw in addition to the reason it was brought in for service. This prompted a review and because the underside (skidplates, etc) were beat up from trail use, Jeep decided that he had abused the jeep and they voided his lifetime warranty.
I think I would sue

I have an 09 Unlimited but lost my lifetime warranty because I missed the second of the 5 year inspection in November 2019. I needed a repair in January 2020 and they turned me down for missing the second inspection. It sucked because I needed a new front drive shaft.
I had this happen this year when I took my 08 in for lifter tick.. My Jeep was in for recall work the day before my 10th year anniversary inspection but they didn't do it. I called Chrysler and they reinstated the lifetime warranty at my cost for repair to pass the inspection.
