Why V6???
Yeah, several forum members here (see links below) who have had their motors pulled down and examined after suffering a spun bearing due to oil loss or extremely high oil consumption have discovered that the pistons had been incorrectly assembled at the Mexican engine plant, with the gaps on the compression rings all lined up and the all expander rings installed upside down.

(Now this is a guess on my part) The 3.8 was designed long before 5/20 wt oil was introduced, but the bearing clearance stayed the same and was not re-engineered for the 5/20 wt oil. Like I said a guess on my part.
