Years ago the MFG would do a cylinder leak down test before starting on natural gas = no more because of cost.

(Now this is a guess on my part) The 3.8 was designed long before 5/20 wt oil was introduced, but the bearing clearance stayed the same and was not re-engineered for the 5/20 wt oil. Like I said a guess on my part.
