Default will this be ok?

i have a 2dr jk with a 2.5 lift rubi shocks with stock rubi gears. i have one of those motorcycle hitch carriers and have been using it to haul my dirt bike round, i need to take two bikes into the mountains this wknd and am worried about this added weight.
could this amount of weight damage anything. will i even be able to drive up into the mountains with stock gearing and two bikes on the back - i have 35's.

i would not be asking but i do not have time to really test it out. i need to make the call tonight/ tomorow morning

thanks

If I read right you can tow 2,000 lbs total wt w/ 200lb tongue weight, but I don't have any idea what the bikes weigh.I think you'll be fine.

A couple dirt bikes are going to be a lot more than the 200 lb tongue weight of the factory hitch. One is pushing it and two in my opinion is dangerous. Check with the manufacturer of the carrier.

Max tongue weight on a 2 door is 200lbs. Even on a 4 door the mopar hitch is only rated for 200 without a weight distribution set up because it just bolts to the rear crossmember.

I'm loadin mine down pretty heavy with logs tonight for a 3 hour drive and am a hit worried.

Don't do it. That'll be 2.5 times the tongue rating of the vehicle. Very dangerous.

Is there some confusion? Are you talking a trailer or are both of your dirtbikes in the air hanging off the back only being held by the hitch?

pics of the "trailer"?? if you are using a trailer, you will fine. ive used my 2dr rubicon to pull a 6x8 utility trailer loaded with logs and branches from 2 chopped up 15' pine trees. ive also pulled the same trailer with a 2dr jk sahara loaded with about 2500# of paver stones and sand.

sorry about the double post.
