will it rub?
I am about to fit a set of 285/70/R17 maxxis bighorns (just under a 33inch) on my stock rims to my jku rubi with 2 inchs of spring lift.
I already know that i will need to cut back the standard rubi rock sliders where they jut out into the rear wheel arch to get them to fit but what i really want to know is will the tyres rub while i'm driving off road or on with out a spacer. And if so i'll need new rims with a suitable back space what should it be as it's illegal to fit spacers down here in Australia.

I have 295/70/17 Trail Grappler's on stock wheels with 1.5" spacers.
2.5" BB lift and the only thing that I rub on it the airdamn when backing up at full lock.
I did not trim anything. I don't think you have to worry about that until you fit those 35's.
Oops, did not see that you are not adding spacers. You might rub the airdamn a little more but I don't think you have any issues in the rear.

No, you won't really need to trim anything such as your rock rails or pinch seams with the tires you will be running. Your 33's aren't really going to be that much bigger than stock to begin with. Without spacers, you MAY have some minor rub turning lock to lock, nothing you wanna go running out to buy parts. You'll be OK for the time being, spacers would be something good to invest in. And who cares about that stupid plastic airdamn thing...take it off, haha....and if you rub it, its plastic, not metal - it'll get messed up before your tire does.
Thanks cerof and fox.
Good to know about the disco rub issue.
Unfortunitly spacers are illegal here in my part of Australia :-( so i just can't put them on.
And the air dam might get a trim or swapped out for a bash plate that fits later on when it rubs like you've said.
Cheers guys and any other input is greatly appreciated.

May rub a bit at full turn, but there is an easy fix:

Thanks jester.
That is an awsomely easy fix to stop rubbing in the front end without spacers and also avoid changing to wheels with bigger back spacing that would also require bigger fender flares.
Your simple fix will save me 100s of dollars.

Not 'my' fix - I just read too much... Glad it helps!
The write up doesn't specify how many washers you could put on there, but remember it will make your turning radius just a tad bigger, so only put on what you absolutely need to keep from rubbing.
Hope it all works good for ya.
