It's gives the Jeep charactor.
You really might want to get this fixed. The winshield is an integral part of the airbag system. If the airbag activates in a crash, the pressure against the windshield is what keeps you/your passenger from hitting something hard. If your already cracked windshield fails, the airbag will do little, or no good. My uncle used to be an engineer at GM and gave me this speech after I told him the same thing that you said above.

I got a small crack in my windshield within the first week of having the Jeep. I called safelite and had them come out and do a repair. It cost me 50 bucks and has a life time warranty. Pretty much if the crack spreads they will deduct the 50 bucks for a replacement. After they guy was done you have to look really close to be able to see the crack now. The best part is they come to your house and do it

I have had my Jeep now for a little more than 33 days, I received my first chip less than 12 hours of owning it. I got my second chip 2 weeks later (only have 700 miles on the vehicle).

My insurance fixes the chips for free so I had them out the same day to fix each. I have just gotten used to the fact that JEEP is not going to improve the quality of glass they use in their vehicles and this will be a recurring issue. I was pretty upset after the first one but I have since gotten used to it.

There's a place here in Midwest City, OK that'll do it for $35. But you've got to take it to them. Was there two weeks ago with my son's F150, and will be back again because he picked up yet another bullseye crack! Considering that he lives on his high school campus and isn't allowed to leave during the week, I can't believe how hard he is on windshields!

I have owend like 26 cars and trucks of various models and I have gotten a chip in just about every one at some point. I dont know how any one can say this is a jeep thing. The only 3 that I have not had chips in so far are my old 04 rubi and the two new JK's so I just cant see how any one can say it is a jeep thing. I think it is all luck. But if you get them repaierd early it realy pays off in the end.
