I had Safelite replace mine a few weeks ago, was around $320.

Thinking they are going to have come back out and look at it though...ever since they replaced it, I have this nice "whistling" noise that I did not have before....and yes, I have taken the freedom panels off 3 times now re-seating them to no avail on the noise, so I don't think it is them.

I just had mine replaced on Tuesday and i've also got a whistling sound coming from the front glass. What can they do to fix it without taking the windsheild back off? Anything? I was going to get a friend to drive me around the neighborhood and so i could see if i could find where the noise is coming from. thought maybe i could fix it somehow myself without having to deal with Safelite again. Any suggestions?

If the shop duct tapes the winshield frame before cutting out the glass they can avoid most if not all visible scratches when cutting out your old glass. The scratches you can't see can be covered by pinch-weld primer, so corrosion won't be a problem. Remember to request a MOPAR glass be installed. The passenger airbag deploys off the inside surface of the windshield. It is designed to perform properly with a MOPAR glass, not some thin Mexican replacement no-name glass. If the shop or your insurance company balks, require a statement of performance saying they guarantee the airbag to perform as designed with a substandard glass. They won't do it....

I had mine replace after 1500 miles because of a crack across the windshield. I wish I knew about the TSG because I could not see a chip and the dealer wouldn't do anything about it.

DON'T replace with the Cheap Safelite one (cost me $254 installed) because within 2 months it is full of pitts and chips. When I complained about the thousands of pitts they said the glass was fine but offered to sell me a MOPAR replacement for $400+ that won't do that. What a crock. I now have 3 large chips (one the size of a quarter) so I imagine the first shot of cold weather they will crack and cause me to replace it. I will defintely spend the extra money and get the better windshield this time.
