behind the wires to the doors. This is a 2dr without power windows. I figure it triggers the dome light to come on, but does it have anything to do with the door being ajar (not closed) thingie on the dash when your door is not fully closed? Seems like it would not...but..

 

The door latch is wired to control your dome lites and your warning lite. Close the latch with a screwdriver with the door open and it will demonstrate how it works......the wiring harness unplugs just out of sight for door removal.
