Just don't use the nut.I haven't ran them for a year. I have less scratches and my door acts no different without them.

Yes owner error but I have owned many cars and none of them scratched this easy. The paint in the Jeep is VERY thin compare to a BMW

Lucky for me I only did it on one hinge before I learned. I think we need to make a READ ME BEFORE YOU TAKE APART YOUR JEEP thread.

Using tools around a vehicle is always a danger to the paint. Always try using something to stop the contact should you slip.

Definitely clever and good use for those refridgerator magnets those pizza places keep sending me.

I put the caps back on because it helps minimize getting crap and water from getting up in there. Not mention it reduces the door rattling from what I've noticed.

Exactly, my buddy has a stone white and we run the same trails. My red rock crystal pearl paint shows the Arizona pinstripes a lot more than his stone white one !!
