I wasn't even disconnected!
Here's Toad in her X when it was stock:

I have 3.21 as well, you will be fine unless you are doing huge climbs.

You'll find a stock X very capable. A set of decent tires will go a LONG way to improving upon that. The Rubicon is an awesome package, but Jeep built a reputation for off-road capability long before the Rubicon (package) existed, therefore you can be assured that the JK X and Sahara continue on that path. Going forward you can always mod as needed to do the things you want to do.

A jeep is a Jeep, design for off-road use... I think if you don't plan to do rock crawling you are fine and if you do a moderate lift and more aggressive tires will help. I feel that the driver's off-road experience has much more relevance than the size of your lift...

Might want to take a look at this thread, too.

Unfortunately, the pics in the first post are white boxes now: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13710&

My reason for asking is because i'm becoming more interested in taking it off road some this summer.
I know there's a huge difference between the X model and the Rubicon, so what's the cutof for the X?

In my experience, you can get a lot of good wheeling done in an X. The biggest issue you will run into is tires. The stock all terrains basically suck if you get into sticky mud. Beyond that, the only huge difference between the Rubi and the X as far as wheeling goes at the front/rear lockers, but you can get in and out of a lot of stuff without using lockers.

Well, the lockers and the low range tansfer case. That 4:1 low range the Rubi has is pretty huge on the trail. Us X and Sahara folks definitely have to work the skinny pedal a little harder and more carefully.

happy to read this words. Jjeep are more or less capable.

i think real capabilities are not used 99% of the time.
3.21 3.73 or 4.1 , 150 ch or 200 ch
