X model offroad capabilities
I took a stock 4 dr X on the trails in Moab... I was stunned at how well it did. The stock tires are not so bad in Moab... the rock is almost 'sticky' there... excellent.
The JK with the BLD is so much better than our 97 TJ stocker. I think like many have said, the Rubi is awesome, but for many, most of the time, it might be overkill. I live in FL, so I bought a Sahara. For us, it's the right balance.
Go enjoy your X, for all but extreme offroading, you'll probably have a ball!
Who knows, you might even get a chance to strap and yank a stuck Rubi someday!

I had mine in quite a few places before doing any significant mod's other than rock sliders:
Lake Stanley Draper, OK (Yes, in stock tires):

Moab, UT:

Disney, OK:

Sedona, AZ:

Just get out there and have fun!

I was surprised what I could do with my 4dr x with the little 225's. I scrape over everything because it sits so low and my wheel base is so long, but you having a 2dr and the factory 31's or 32's (not sure what size they actually are) will help tremendously. If I would have had the extra money, I would have gone with a rubicon, but things didn't work out that way. There used to be a neat video of a guy with a stock 2dr x with 225's and 3.21's up in canada doing a pretty cool trail with his. It used to be on Youtube, but it says it was deleted due to some kind of copyright law. Its a shame, it had a really good soundtrack too. Maybe you can find it some where else.
