Default Yoke leak?

I noticed my rear driveshaft was sweating some grease out of the driveshaft itself. (not the pinion seal area).

I took it to the dealer and this was the diagnosis..

Find oil leaking from the yoke, ordered parts.
What is the yoke exactly? Did they diagnose this correctly?

Yolk/Flange is the pinion area, the driveshaft attaches to the flange. If the grease is coming out of the end driveshaft funky style cv joint it seemed they would have ordered you a new driveshaft. As far as I know, you cant get seperat parts for the driveshafts.

Its not coming from the CV joint its coming from the other end of the driveshaft right before it enters the diff. There is another circular parts on the driveshaft with some bolts around it. That is where it is seeping.

Is it black grease that's being shot out by the rubber boot that the end of the driveshaft? If so, thats the joint that needs replacing, like I said, I don't believe they can get just the joint, unless something has changed. Maybe they can

Hmm, that's an enclosed joint on the end as far as I know that slides into the pinion flange , If its not coming from the pinion seal, it seems it would be coming from the joint on the driveshaft, unless there is some type of seal on the end of the ds joint that is letting grease out the end. Sorry I type slow, hunt and peck.

If it's coming from the area you descibe, it would have to be a pinion seal leak, but the way that thing is desighned it would seem to be showing up leaking in the dust cover/ pinion area.

Looks like gear oil is getting up there some way, the pinion seal may be compromised on the interior of the seal and it's traveling and thats why it's leaking there instead of near the dust cap, that is strange, other than that, the only thing that has grease is the cv joint, unless that joint is just seeping somehow. Maybe someone will pop up thats had a leak there.
