I don't play in the rocks around here but for me its the front. I have noticeable scrapes on the front, not so much on the rear.

Rear is prone to peeling the edge while sliding over rocks. Front prone to dents. I used a riddler for the rear and a rugged ridge guard for the front

I have had the same experience as orange dude. Two oil changes ago we found where the rear diff cover was push out slightly front rock contact. It had a very slight leak. Nothing a hammer didn't fix.

Do you risk loosing the seal when installing the guard having to remove several bolts up front? or not ?
Why did you choose to install a guard up front rather than a full cover ( seeing they are as much as some full covers ) ?
i was thinkin buying one at a time to protect them, im not sure if i should get the front or rear first lol prob should do both @ same time i guess to be on the safe side when doing so . I wasnt sure which one takes more hits over all.

I went with the guard because I was concerned about clearance issues with the trackbar or in the future if I was to install an aftermarket track bar. As I recall I did need to break the seal and refill. My rtv job was not the greatest and it leaked abit so I recently installed a lube locker. Problem solved

If you are playing in rocks I would go with the rear first. The lower lip can peel back leaving you with catastrophic failure if you are not prepared. I have seen this happen a few times. For what it is worth I have both on order.
