Mustang Narrowly Misses Pole Racing Against SRT8

Not sure if this one was a case of poor driving skills or having a serous malfunction with the vehicle. Either way, it looks like this Mustang driver just narrowly escaped a major catastrophe while trying to race this Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

As you can see in TheBayAreaRacing video below, during the second match-up, after smoking his tires a few times at the starting line, the Mustang driver barely misses hitting a pole while trying to chase down the Jeep.

Seeing how close the Mustang actually came to hitting the pole made me break out into sweats. So I can only imagine how sitting in the seat of the Fox Body must have felt.

Lesson here? Never underestimate the power of a Jeep, be sure to give your vehicle a thorough check before bearing down for a drag run, and never, ever bite off more than you can chew.
