Default Jeeping With Only 1 Day in Oahu, What to do?

Aloha!

My son and I are catching the Navy's Tiger Cruise on the 13th of June. I believe we'll be in Oahu June 12th (Tues) for just 1 day before embarking the following day. If all goes according to plans, I've decided to skip on the overnight hotel stay and rent a 4 door JK and head to the nearest trail for some sight seeing, pics and naturally once we've tired out just use the JK for our sleeping accomodations

Our 1st stop will be Pearl Harbor Memorial.

Any help or suggestions from the local Jeepers will be greatly appreciated with anything else is recommend to do on such a short schedule.

Any preferred routes that explore the whole Island, particular scenic spots, other Jeeper friendly spots, or safe places to sleep overnight.

I wouldn't want to impose on anyone but feel free to let me know if someone is, by chance, doing the exact same 1 day quick exploration route. Perhaps I'll just trek behind

Aloha!

So what to do in just 1 day..... Uh I'd say take a lap around the island. As far as trails, there is Peacock Flats but you will need a pass and kaena point which you will not need a pass. As far as sleeping in ur Jeep, i dunno lol maybe at Bellows or Nimitz Beach.... Check out the Polynesian Cultural Center and do a full Luau, eat a big feast of local food. I dunno what I would do with just 1 day, but good luck

Cool, I like these ideas;
lap around the island - is there any one particular hwy or blvd that I can achieve this and should I take it clock-wise or counter?

Kaena Point sounds interesting - is it just a moderate trail ok for a stock rental and can I sleep overnight on that trail?

Bellow & Nimitz Beach - worth checking it out for overnight; I'm use to folding down the back seats and sleeping in my JK. Just got to fill the gap and cover the metal piece and I'll sleep like a baby

Thanks for ideas Finndogg!

From the net on Peacock Flat
there aren't a lot of legal options available, but Peacock Flats is pretty cool.
Having more variety in places to go would be nice, but the trails up there
aren't too shabby, and have a bit of good variety in skill levels.

Thanks 33 williys 77

Cooridinates are helpful for sure.

I'll add them to my mapping.

Aloha! Just got in Oahu, picked up a red 4dr JK and ready to navigate around and about:-)

Quick question, where and what building on Punch Bowl do I get day pass for trails like Kaena Point?

Aloha, I am also here. I arrived on the 11th and leave the 22nd and will rent a Jeep on Sunday to drive to North Shore. Should I try these same spots?

Ya hit up Kaena point, no pass necessary and its a nice drive with some good beaches. Then if you get a pass drive to waianae and head up to the flats. Awesome views of the island up there. You won't be disappointed. Welcome to the island!!!

MXPXERJK,

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread. I hope your day went well.

DA RUNT,

Thanks for the suggestions, we will try those out. We did bring our dive gear, so that will work great.

JK Bobby,

I agree, Pearl Harbor Memorial is a must, but we did it last time we were here. Thanks
