Almost as if they've shunned themselves from society..
Definitely interested. Didn't have any issues about glass bottles last trip, but packed out what we brought in. I'll be at least +1 (with my DD, since she's 6 months along) and possibly some others...having some of her family around that time too. More the merrier, right?
For those driving down from Hampton Roads (like me) Weeping Radish Brewery is on the way...and also sells fresh made bratwurst.

Sweet! I already have a vacation planned for that week in Duck with the family. I am coming from Ohio and would love to meet up. I am coming down the 10th through the 17. Let me know about more details. I am bringing my wife and one year old son and golden retriever. See ya soon,

I go down there to fish and wheel on the sand and the back trails pretty much every summer. Never had any problem with glass bottles (I have drank out of glass bottles on the beach every time and never had an issue), but I did get pulled over by a cop for going 25 mph because he said I was too close to people(within 50 feet which I wasn't but whatever) to be going that fast. When you are close to people the speed limit is 15 mph which makes sense. He let me off with a warning. Make sure y'all air down to 10 psi it will make driving on the sand much easier and less chance of getting stuck. If you do get stuck, just back out of the rut. DO NOT slam on the gas in drive as it will dig you in deeper. I have pulled out several people with my tow rope on this beach. And just to limit confusion it is actually called Carova Beach. Carova stands for Carolina Virginia border beach. First you will pass through Duck,
then Corolla until route 12 ends on Carova Beach. The back trails behind the beach are fun too. Plenty of wildlife back there especially at night. One of my favorite places to go.

I used to think just like you. I would air down to 15 or 20 so I wouldn't have to worry about airing back up to drive into town, but then I met this old jeeper driving a super jacked up yellow TJ and he told me he airs down to 9 psi which
I thought was funny because he said 9 and not 10 or whatever. This guy is a retired local and spends a lot of his time driving up and down the beach helping people who are stuck so they don't have to pay to be towed. He and I recovered a stuck SUV in a joint effort. Pretty cool guy for sure. Anyway, my point is that you don't have to air down that low and you will most likely be just fine. I never got stuck at 15 or 20, but being at 10 psi makes it tough to get stuck in a jk. I just thought it would be good advice since some folks who are going down there may not have a lot of experience driving on a deeply rutted sloppy beach like this one. The sand is not hard and even like some other beaches, it is soft and super rutted in spots and is heavily traversed. But by all means if you are used to beach driving then you should be fine at 15 or 20. I also have MTs which are not the best for sand and tend to dig in due to the lug shape and placement. I suppose with some A/T tires it wouldn't matter as much. It's up to you bro. I would love to come down there and join in, but I am not sure yet if I can. Hopefully though. It is beautiful down there.
